Here at Castlemeade Homes we have recently secured a planning consent for a two storey extension to a grade II listed building not only in the Green Belt but also in a Conservation Area.
This involved three separate applications: LPA (Local Planning Authority) English Heritage and Conservation Area.
The planning applications had to be managed with the upmost sensitivity, not only in the design of the extension but also in linking the new building to the existing listed building. We designed a glazed link to differentiate between old and new, and also offered to trade off some old disused agricultural buildings and hard standings to enhance the Greenbelt. This was proven as a case for "special circumstances" and after extensive meetings and discussions with the planners and conservation officers we were pleased to receive full planning permission.
